Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the behavior and trends of temperature and precipitation in the city of Puerto Maldonado. Series of mean temperature (Tmean), maximum temperature (Tmax), minimum temperature (Tmin) and precipitation (1970-2017) from the Puerto Maldonado weather station were used. Climatological trends using were analyzed by linear regression analysis. We found a significant increase (P-value < 0.05) in 2.40°C (Tmean), in 2.34°C (Tmax) and not significant for the minimums and the observed precipitation did not present increase during the period 1970-2017. A positive trend (P-value < 0.05) was found for mean, maximum and minimum annual and monthly temperature and observed annual precipitation showed no trend.
