Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Original articles
Presents the results of scientific research based on theoretical or experimental hypotheses, which means an original contribution to knowledge in any of the areas of interest of the journal. It relates the way to delimit the research question, the way to put it to the test (statistical analysis of the experiment, disciplinary protocols) and the confrontation of the data generated with the current literature. The acceptable range for the document setting is 4,500 to 7,500 words.
Review articles
Works of meta-analysis and exhaustive critical evaluation of research carried out on topics within the scope of the journal. This type of work offers the state of knowledge of said object or area of study, with which it is possible to identify relationships, contradictions or inconsistencies in the topic of interest, and make proposals for further studies. The maximum document limit is 10000 words.
Short communications
Informes de importancia inusual, urgencia e interés y deben contener resultados preliminares relevantes. No puede ser mayor a cuatro páginas de la revista (aprox. 4000 palabras). Comunicaciones más grandes serán devueltas a los autores para su reducción. Una explicación que justifique la publicación de una comunicación, debe incluir la importancia e interés de ella, lo que ayudará al editor a aceptar o rechazar la comunicación.
Scientific notes
It presents observations and brief scientific descriptions of methods or results, progress of research work or news of scientific interest. The results must be conclusive or important to disseminate a complete phase of an ongoing investigation. It cannot be more than five pages of the journal (approx. 5000 words). In the case of the Summary and Abstract, the length should not exceed 100 words. It is also recommended that in the bibliographic references, the essential be noted.
Letters to the editor
If there are objections or comments regarding the recently published articles, these will be published, not without first considering the author's right to reply, who may reply in a letter of similar length within a month. The relevance of the publication of the response will be assessed by the Editorial Committee. Three tables and/or figures may be included, and up to ten bibliographical references. The main text of a letter to the editor consists of: Body of the comment and Bibliographic references.
