The study characterized the tree component of the SARAYACU mining concession, located in the Inambari River basin in Madre de Dios, using the Importance Value Index (IVI). Forest inventories recorded 582 individuals belonging to species of commercial interest. Euterpe precatoria had the highest IVI, followed by Iriartea deltoidea and Tetragastris altissima; together with seven other species, they accounted for 90.39% of the total IVI. In economic terms, 3% of the species were classified as high-value, 14% as medium-value, 8% as potentially valuable, and 75% as low-value. The findings reveal high diversity combined with the ecological dominance of a small group of species. Despite mining-related disturbances, a functional tree assemblage persists and may support restoration processes. This evidence provides criteria for conservation and sustainable forest management in degraded Amazonian landscapes.
