Economic diagnosis of medicinal plants in the district of Tambopata

In the district of Tambopata there is no institution dedicated to marketing, only to research on medicinal plants. Therefore, the objective of the research was to determine the market for medicinal plants in the Tambopata District of the Madre de Dios Region. The study was descriptive type and level of research, we applied the methods: analytical, explanatory, statistical and bibliographic, the sample consisted of 227 applicants, 29 providers and 15 institutions. The results of the investigation show that the plaintiffs buy the plants as an alternative for the treatment of an illness or disease; the bidders have a group of eight plants that have the highest output in the market, such as the case of "cat's claw", where 86.2% offer the product; In the case of institutions, only 40% of those studied are involved in working with medicinal plants. We conclude that the commercialization of medicinal plants in the district of Tambopata is informal and empirical in terms of its price, quantity demanded and quantity supplied.
