Representación mediática de América Latina en el mundo árabe: el caso de la televisión Al-jazeera

En el presente artículo se analizan el tratamiento noticioso realizado por el canal televisivo Al-Jazzera de América Latina. El objetivo general es poner de manifiesto cómo está informado el espectador árabe de América Latina y de los latinoamericanos a través de dicho canal televisivo. El método seguido fue el de análisis de contenido de las noticias emitidas entre el 01 de enero del 2000 al 30 de diciembre del 2020. Se delimitó dicho periodo por su nivel de coyuntura periodística. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que América Latina recibe una cobertura insuficiente e incompleta. Otro resultado interesante que se desprende del análisis, el medio televisivo estudiado tiende a mostrar una imagen sesgada del subcontinente latinoamericano, consecuencia de los relatos de las agencias informativas internacionales.
