GENTRYANA subscribes to the Code of Ethics for the conduct and performance of those involved in the publication process of this journal (editors, editorial board, authors, and reviewers) established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at publicationethics.org

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDITORIAL TEAM

Roles and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

  1. Promote the submission of papers for publication in the journal among the national and international academic community.
  2. Suggest academic guidelines for the journal's editorial policy.
  3. Support the selection of reviewers for the submitted papers, as well as deliberate on the best reviewer options when necessary.
  4. Decide on the appropriateness of publication of the materials received, based on expert opinions.
  5. Approve the proposed content for each issue of the journal.
  6. Review and evaluate each published issue.
  7. Collaborate with the appropriate bodies to maintain the established publication frequency.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Editor

  1. Coordinate actions leading to the fulfillment of the journal's objectives.
  2. Ensure a high academic level in the published content.
  3. Receive works proposed for publication and request their opinions.
  4. Ensure compliance with the reviewers' recommendations.
  5. Inform authors of the stage of the editorial process in which the submitted text is.
  6. Inform the Editorial Committee about the peer-review process for all materials received, ensuring confidentiality.
  7. Propose to the Editorial Committee the content of each issue of the journal, based on the texts that have been corrected and approved at that time.
  8. Plan and coordinate the journal's editorial production process.
  9. Oversee the technical processing of materials approved by the Editorial Board once they have met the established academic requirements.
  10. Oversee the journal's copyediting and technical quality.
  11. Collaborate to maintain the journal's established publication frequency and ensure that the dissemination and distribution of each issue begins during the first month of the corresponding period.

Author Responsibilities

  • Redundant or Duplicate Publication
  1. Submitting a text implies that the work has not been previously published in the form submitted to GENTRYANA (no exceptions). If the article is accepted, the authors agree to ensure that all subsequent dissemination of the article refers to GENTRYANA as the site where it was first published, and that the citation properly refers to GENTRYANA's information and the assigned DOI.
  • Funding and Declaration of Potential Conflicts of Interest
  1. Authors must disclose any commercial ties, material or financial support received during the research, at the time of writing the article, or at the time of its publication, or any potential financial interest related to the subject of their article that could give rise to a conflict of interest. If there is no source of funding, the statement must include the section stating "The authors did not receive any sponsorship to carry out this study/article." Authors who have no conflicts of interest related to the subject of the work must also declare that "There is no type of interest related to the subject of the work." This information will be disclosed at the end of each contribution, in a visible place.
  • Obtaining Permissions
  1. Authors who reproduce previously published material (text, tables, or figures) in their article are directly responsible for obtaining the appropriate permissions for reproduction in the journal. Authors must have obtained written authorization from the publisher that published the material and send a copy to the journal. If authors have any questions about how to proceed, the GENTRYANA editorial team can provide support.
  • Declaration of Originality
  1. Authors must declare that the content of the manuscript is original and has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted or submitted for consideration in any other publication format, either in whole or in part. Failure to do so constitutes a serious breach of scientific ethics.

Responsibilities of the reviewers

  1. The reviewer will accept reviews of texts that are relevant to his or her area of ​​expertise, in order to conduct an appropriate evaluation.
  2. He or she will declare any conflicts of interest from the beginning of the process. If he or she suspects the identity of the author(s), he or she must notify the journal if this knowledge poses a potential conflict of interest.
  3. He or she will reject the review immediately if he or she is unable to submit it within the agreed deadline.
  4. He or she will issue his or her evaluation based on originality, the article's contribution to the topic, the methodology used, the relevance and timeliness of the bibliography used, and the style, coherence, and quality of the structure and writing of the text.
  5. He or she will inform the journal immediately if, during the evaluation, he or she finds or discovers that he or she lacks the necessary experience to evaluate all aspects of the text.
  6. His or her criticisms will be objective, specific, and constructive.

  8. He or she will issue his or her evaluation within the agreed deadline.
  9. He or she will respect confidentiality during and after the evaluation process.
  10. You will not use content from the text reviewed or under review.
  11. You will not involve other people in the requested review.
  12. You will inform the journal if you detect similarities between the text and another text you have reviewed or if you identify any type of plagiarism.
  13. You may not transfer the responsibility of preparing a review to any other person, assistant, or collaborator.
