The objective was to determine the relationship between active breaks and work performance at the San José de Sisa Health Center, El Dorado, during 2020. A quantitative, applied, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with a census sample of 30 workers. A 12-item active-break questionnaire and an 18-item work-performance questionnaire were administered; Cronbach's alpha coefficients were 0.978 and 0.981, respectively. Low levels of active breaks and work performance were found in 50% and 47% of participants. Given the observed distribution, associations were examined using Spearman's rho. Active breaks were positively and significantly related to work performance, ρ = 0.859, p < 0.001. Significant relationships were also found for short rests, ρ = 0.845, and physical exercise, ρ = 0.842, both p < 0.001. The variables strongly covaried in the sample, although the design does not support causal inference.
