First record of tree Drypetes brevipedicellata (Putranjivaceae) in Peru

As a result of floristic research in the Bahuaja Sonene National Park and the Pampas del Heath, in the southern Peruvian Amazon, we report for the first time in the country the presence of the tree Drypetes brevipedicellata of the family Putranjivaceae. This species was recorded in primary riparian forests in the vicinity of the Heath River. An updated description of D. brevipedicellata is presented, along with detailed information on the specimens collected, as well as images of its morphological characteristics.
