This study analyzes the tourism market in Puerto Maldonado during the 2021-2022 period, with the objective of evaluating the competitiveness and demand for activities offered by local tourism operators. Through a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, data were collected via surveys and interviews with tourism operators and visitors. The results reveal a high concentration of nature-oriented activities and the need for diversification of the offer to attract more tourists. Additionally, deficiencies in infrastructure and tourism promotion were identified, limiting the sector's growth potential. It is concluded that improving the destination’s competitiveness requires increased investment in infrastructure and diversification of tourism activities.
