Business Intelligence Techniques and their impact on the management of FED indicators in the Regional Health Directorate of Madre de Dios

Business intelligence (BI) has become a crucial global strategy to improve decision making in various organizations. In healthcare, where indicator management and process optimization are essential, BI plays a key role. At the national level, the implementation of BI in the health sector strengthens the efficiency and quality of medical services, especially in the management of Performance Stimulus Fund (Fondo de Estímulo al Desempeño, FED) indicators. A study aimed to implement BI techniques in the management of FED indicators, focusing on pregnant mothers registered in the HIS MINSA. The pre-experimental design revealed an optimization of process time before and after dashboard implementation, with a significant reduction of 11.25 minutes (t=-0.359; p=0.001 <0.05), demonstrating a significant positive impact of BI tools on DIRESA processes.
